CCI introduced the #11 Muzzleloading Cap in 1975. Why? There is no mercury, corrosives or anything that could be considered unreliable. CCI currently offers four products. The #11M is more powerful than the #11. It can ignite black powders faster than the #11. The #10 Cap is designed to fit revolvers with smaller nibles. Four Wing Musket Caps are also available for replica and authentic muskets.

When shooting without a bullet or powder charge, nipples should have a large diameter. Normal nipples can become clogged if fired multiple times without a powder charge. This will cause the cap to break. CCI recommends an internal diameter of 0.050 inches for nipples that are not loaded with bullets or powder charges. Clean the flame path and the nipples after firing. Always use authorized muzzleloading shooting glasses.
